EVENT – Happy Harvesters PE – 18 August

Happy Harvesters – Food Growers Forum – 18 August

The NMB Transition Network invites you, at long last, to our first Happy Harvesters event: a space for food growers and food lovers to meet, interact, share experiences, ideas and even seeds and surplus produce.

We have two guest speakers for our first event from Urban Harvest Eastern Cape and Organic Footprints.

Urban Harvest set up and maintain food gardens design according to the principles and practices of permaculture. From urban residential gardens to community school gardens, and then regular training workshops to share their knowledge, they are doing great work towards local food security (and keeping it all purely organic)

Organic Footprints are our friendly distributors of local and organic food, making it easy for you to support producers who are doing it right! But why is all this important? I’ll leave it to them to tell you.

Following the presentations, everyone will be free to meet and mingle with fellow food and gardening enthusiasts. There will be some seed and seedlings available too!

Date: Saturday 18 August 2012
Time: 11am – 2pm
Place: The Paragon, 15 Mangold Str, Newton Park
