Introduction to Food Gardening Workshop

9 – 10 June 2012

This two day workshop will prepare you to start and maintain your own food garden. You will leave with a new or stronger foundation on every aspect of food gardening from building soil to harvesting seed.

The topics that will be covered include:
Choosing your site and designing your beds
Preparing the beds/ Container Gardening
How to plant: Crop Rotation and Companion Planting
Mulching and Recycling
Watering, Harvesting, Soil Building
Compost and Earthworms
Pest Control, Seed Collecting

Dates and Times: 9 June 09h00 till 15h00; 10 June 09h00 till 15h00

Cost: R600

Venue: 15 Spekboom Street, Jeffreys Bay

Directions: Coming into Jeffreys Bay from the R102 drive past Kabeljauws along Da Gama Road, Turn left into Akasia Street and first right into Spekboom Street

Bring: Hat, Sunblock, Water Bottle, Comfortable clothing, Pen

Language: Classes will be offered in Afrikaans and English

Vegetarian lunches will be provided
