Newsletter March 2012
Alrighty…just a brief monthly newsletter for you…
We’ve just gotten involved with MetroWind and their proposed wind farm project for the Van Stadens area. There has been a fair amount of media attention around this, with some mixed opinions. I thought, seeing as we’re involved, I’d throw in my few cents worth…
If you’ve missed articles about the project in the media, just visit the PE Herald website and search for “metrowind”… a few should pop up.
For those interested in purchasing Effective Micro-organism solutions (some of you may recall it from the workshops we’ve had), you can now contact Alhyrian to get your hands on some… firstname.lastname@example.org
Unfortunately we had to postpone last months proposed gathering of our previous food gardening workshop attendees, but we are back on to organizing that.
We expect to collaborate with the Alliance Francaise on Green Week again this year; we’re curious to hear what kind of events you might like to see there?
If you are wondering what all happened (and didnt happen) at the COP17 climate change talks in Durban this year, NMBM and WESSA are hosting a feedback session on 22 March at City Hall, 08h30. We’ll be providing feedback at this event from our experience there as well. View the invite here…
We’ve been hearing a lot about a group of guerrilla gardeners that have been targeting unused and neglected spaces in the metro, cleaning them up and bringing some life to them with a mixture of plants. You can find out more about these Secret Sowers on Facebook
Dont forget to check out our calendar to see what events are taking place in and around the metro… find it here. Upcoming events include:
